Abstract

The water crisis has evolved from a limited geographical challenge to a global issue with multiple economic, environmental, social and even security dimensions in recent decades. Population growth, urbanization, climate change and rising levels of prosperity have all led to an increase in demand for water resources, while the supply of these resources is facing serious constraints due to natural constraints and environmental degradation. In the meantime, the agricultural sector, as the largest consumer of freshwater, plays a key role in the formation and management of this crisis.
