(یادداشت تحلیلی: ترجمه) پایداری محاسباتی: محاسبات برای جهانی بهتر و آینده‌ای پایدار

چکیده
دانشمندان علم کامپیوتر و اطلاعات در قالب همکاری سایر رشته‌ها، با هدف تحقق آینده‌ای پایدار، در پی حل چالش‌های اجتماعی و ‌محیط  زیستی پیش روی بشریت هستند و توان و دانش خود را به اشتراک گذاشته تا با استفاده از رویکردی میان ‌رشته‌ای و محاسباتی، در راستای توسعه پایدار و حفاظت از منابع طبیعی و محیط زیست قدم بردارند.
نکات کلیدی مقاله شامل موارد زیر است:
علوم کامپیوتر، پایداری [و توسعه پایدار] را غنا می‌بخشد. برای دستیابی به آینده‌ای پایدار، دانشمندان علوم کامپیوتر می‌توانند و می‌بایست در راستای برطرف کردن چالش‌های کلیدی اجتماعی-محیط زیستی پیش ‌روی بشریت، قدم بردارند. از این رو رشته جدید پایداری محاسباتی این تلاش‌ها را گرد هم ‌می‌آورد.
متقابلاً پایداری [و توسعه پایدار]، علوم کامپیوتر را نیز غنی می‌کند. چراکه کار بر روی مسائل پایداری، شامل عدم قطعیت، یادگیری ماشین، بهینه‌سازی، سنجش‌از‌دور و تصمیم‌گیری، با ایجاد مسائل محاسباتی جذاب و جدید، علوم کامپیوتر را نیز پربار می‌کند.
پایداری [و توسعه پایدار] به مسائل مربوط به رفاه انسان و حفاظت از زمین اهمیت می‌دهد. گروهی بزرگ از پژوهشگران علوم کامپیوتر، در همکاری با گروهی بزرگ‌تر از پژوهشگران علوم اجتماعی، محیطی و طبیعی، می‌توانند پایداری محاسباتی را به گونه‌ای ارتقا دهند که در سطوح خردتر یا کمتر بین‌رشته‌ای امکان‌پذیر نیست.
